OTASA: A remarkable history
This commemorative book was written to celebrate the history and legacy of the South African Association of Occupational Therapists (SAAOT) / Occupational Therapy Association of South Africa (OTASA). The book documents the progress of the Occupational Therapy profession and the role OTASA has played in this, from humble beginnings in 1943 to present day. It took two and a half years to publish this book, from the start of the authoring in 2014, to the final print and launch of the book in July 2016. I worked with the editor, occupational therapis Dr. Rosemary Crouch and my sub-editor Dana Bosch to edit and layout a 384 page publication. Most pages are text heavy with a number of spreads containing images, newspaper clippings, archival photographs from the 40s, sketches and cartoons.
